Position Title: Tenure-Track Position in African American History
The Department of History at The University of Scranton welcomes applications for a tenure-track position in African American history, beginning fall 2021. A Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment and teaching experience are preferred. Primary responsibilities include teaching the U.S. History survey, Race in American History, as well as other courses in the successful candidate’s area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates who specialize in urban history and/or religious history in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but all applications will be considered The University of Scranton is, by tradition and choice, a Catholic and Jesuit university.
