Job Description: Visiting Assistant Professor in Science & Technology Studies-2022-2023 Academic Year
The Department of Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2022-2023 academic year. The successful candidate will teach three courses over the course of the academic year. In the Fall semester, the successful candidate would teach an upper-level Senior Seminar course in the area of their choosing within the subject area of Biology & Society. In the Spring semester, the successful candidate would teach a lecture course “Ethics and the Environment” (STS/BSOC 2061), which explores economic, epistemological, political, and social issues connected to the environment. The second course taught would be another Senior Seminar within the subject area of Biology & Society.
A PhD degree is required in Science & Technology Studies or a closely related field such as anthropology; history; or sociology of the environment, medicine, science, or technology. The successful candidate must also have demonstrated teaching ability.
