A specialization in French Caribbean literature and culture of any period, and in any of the following areas: Francophone thought, literature, and culture, including the concept of Francophonie across the world and its cultural diversity, and the Francophone diaspora; French cinema; contemporary French culture; the European Union and its relations with the world. The successful candidate must be able to develop and teach all levels (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced) of French courses, including courses in the above areas of specialization. The successful candidate must show potential for and commitment to teaching in a communicative-based language program, as well as working with talented and diverse students at the undergraduate level. Familiarity with the technology for language teaching is highly desirable. In addition to the teaching duties, the candidate will participate in the discipline’s extracurricular and outreach activities, as well as work closely with students and faculty to grow the French Studies profile within the University of Michigan-Dearborn and its surrounding community.
