Assistant Professor - Economic, Racial/Ethnic, and/or Gender Inequality

The Department of Political Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor position in economic, racial/ethnic, and/or gender inequality, to begin Fall 2020. The position is open with regard to field in Political Science (or related discipline) and methodological approach. We welcome applications from scholars across the discipline who analyze how political actors, processes, institutions, outcomes or individuals are racialized, classed, and/or gendered and/or who take intersectional approaches to understanding these questions. We are particularly interested in applicants with substantive research agendas that grapple with challenging issues of marginalization and exclusion and who exhibit a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The successful candidate must have strong research skills and a theoretically motivated research agenda that will lead to publication in peer-reviewed outlets (journals and/or books). The position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

All the requirements for a Ph.D. in political science, public policy, or related field must be finished at the time of appointment.
