The Sociology Department at Rutgers University seeks to hire a junior scholar in the area of data and technology in social life. We seek a scholar with research and teaching interests in the role of large-scale data and digital technologies within or across social and institutional domains including the economy, politics, healthcare, criminal justice/punishment, and/or culture. Preference will be given to candidates who understand the mechanics of digital technologies and computational methods and use them in their research within a substantive area of focus. The ability to secure external funding is desirable. This is a tenure track position at the assistant professor level to begin September 1, 2020.
